Throughout the day, your bathroom gets a lot of use. It’s a wet area in your home where mold and fungus thrive. Aside from that, your bathroom’s floor and wall tiles are covered in dangerous bacteria and grime, which can affect the room’s attractiveness. If left uncleaned for prolonged periods, these can lead to health problems for you and your family. Dirt and dust can become encrusted over time, making them much more difficult to remove. As a result, we recommend cleaning it at least once a week. If you take excellent care of your tile floors, they can last a lifetime.
STEP 1
You should start with a completely dry bathroom. Sweep the floors using a dust mop, making sure to get into every nook and corner. While you’re at it, lightly dust fixtures and shelves so dirt doesn’t float down to the floor once you’ve finished cleaning. After you’ve finished with the dry sweep, soak an old towel in warm water. Wipe the floor with this, being sure to get into every corner.
STEP 2
Close the door after a few minutes in a hot, steaming shower. Allow the bathroom to heat up and fill with steam. The goal is to dislodge even the most obstinate dirt. Warmth and dampness will make cleaning the floor tiles much easier, and you won’t find yourself scraping at the grout as much. Open it up after around five minutes and start cleaning once the steam has subsided.
STEP 3
Add 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup lemon juice into 1/2 bucket of warm water. Mix well, then scrub the solution over your wall tiles with a sponge. Allow the solution to sit for 5 minutes after you’ve washed the entire surface, then wipe clean with a dampened clean sponge. While you can use a store-bought tile cleaning solution, these are frequently loaded with chemicals that are harmful if inhaled for long periods of time.
STEP 4
Grout that has become dirty can impair the beauty of your tiles while also trapping bacteria and germs. Spraying copious amounts of an efficient bathroom cleaning solution on the grout is the best approach to clean it. Scrub the grout with an old toothbrush dipped in the cleaning liquid. Allow 15-20 minutes for the cleaner to settle before scrubbing it away. Rinse the tiles with normal water and dry with a microfiber cloth. If the stains are harder to remove then you might need help from house cleaning services.
STEP 5
Since your bathroom is one of your home’s dampest areas, there are chances for mold to grow. It’s crucial to know how to keep your bathroom tiles mold-free after washing them. Pour 1 cup vinegar into a spray bottle without water. Apply it directly to the moldy areas and give one hour for it to settle. Then use a cotton cloth to wipe the entire area clean. After a shower, clean the tiles with a dry cloth to prevent mold from developing.
STEP 6
Finally, dry the floor with a fresh microfiber or cotton cloth to avoid any wiping or water stains. Start from the deepest end out, as you did the first time, so you don’t have to enter the restroom again once you’re through.
