Moving out of your rented home can be a real hassle considering the many different things you need to take care of. One of the most important things you need to do before vacating is the end-of-lease cleaning which is mandatory for the return of your bond money. Considering the many different things on your mind, there are chances that you might miss out on cleaning certain spots. Before you begin the cleaning process, it is wise to draw a comprehensive plan, detailing everything you need to do. Part of this involves making a checklist that covers all areas of your house.

Area-wise checklist

Outdoor cleaning

When it comes to bond cleaning, you should focus on decluttering and sanitising your rental property’s exteriors too, such as the garage, pool, driveway and patios.

  • Remove any boxes from your garage or carport, leaving only supplies, tools, or items that were there when you arrived.
  • Using a broom and a long duster, remove all dust and cobwebs from the ceiling rafters, walls, and shelves.
  • Pressure wash the driveway and make sure there is no mold or stains.

  • Remove all trash and clean out the trash bins.

Kitchen cleaning

The kitchen is one the places that take the longest to clean so it is wise to begin here. If you find that your kitchen has more dirt and grime than you thought, you can hire professional bond cleaning services to do thorough cleaning for you.

  • Wipe the interior and exterior of all cupboards and doors with a damp cloth. If the liner is ripped or peeling, remove it and replace it.
