It’s a new year and a fresh start to life for everyone. The world is recovering from the pandemic and people have started to travel and migrate for various purposes. The most important thing they check before travel is a proper and safe place to live, an accommodation. Rental owners have tenants moving in and out and a possible list of queries from new tenants. So it’s important to make a good impression on the possible new tenants through images provided on websites and first visit. All of this is only possible if the place is clean and shines brighter than the sun, it is of utmost importance that owners make sure that the house is clean and not dirty and we here at Ozclean have come up with the top tips that apartment and homeowners should know.

1. Inspect the move-out process

For the tenant and the house owner, the move-out process can be time-consuming and at the same time open a new world of opportunities. This is the only chance a property owner gets to make a claim for any damage caused by the current occupants and make sure you have proof in the form of a photograph in case of any dispute. One thing that many owners often forget is the utility account, make sure all the bills are up to date and there are no existing dues.

2. Clean the walls and all other painted surfaces

The exterior is what makes the first impression when a prospective client walks in, and you have to make sure that the walls are in pristine condition. Make sure that the walls are in top condition because the wear and tear could make the paint peel away. But the most important thing to check on walls is the build-up of mold, which in turn can cause health issues and act as a bad sign for prospective clients.

3. Clean the Kitchen

The walls are like the skin of the house and the kitchen is the heart. It is really important to have the kitchen in perfect condition. Make sure that there isn’t any leftover food in the fridge or any of the cabins and cupboards. It is of utmost importance that the kitchen sink is working properly, by that we mean the drainage is not blocked and not giving off any pungent smell.

4. Bathrooms and tiles

The number one deal-breaker when it comes to signing a new tenant is because of how bad the bathroom has been maintained. Bathrooms are like the storehouse for molds and mildew on both the walls and the floor tiles. It is necessary to clean them to such an extent that there is not even a trace of them, there are no drainage problems, no leaking taps.

5. Interior rooms

Now let’s talk about the rooms. The property owner has to make sure that all the furniture is in pristine condition, the mattress and curtains are clean without any stains, replace any worn-out light bulbs, wipe and clean the dust from the windows and mirrors.

6. Exterior space

If your property has a front lawn and a backyard, you will be attracting a lot of families as clients. So it is important to keep it free from any sort of debris like fallen leaves, branches, any leftovers by previous tenants, and replace broken tiles if any.

7. Fan and Air Conditioning unit

You would not believe us if we told you how many clients said no to a prospective deal because of how unkempt the ceiling fan and the air conditioning unit were. Make sure to wipe the dust of fan blades, if it’s making any noise, repair if not replaced. The same goes for the AC unit, clean the inlet and the outlet.

8. Basement and Attic

This is one place that is often neglected by many cleaners because it’s one place where no one likes to be, but not everyone. The basement and attic can be the abode for various wild animals like bats and other four-legged creatures and the worst of them all termites. Make sure the attic and the basement are thoroughly checked and cleaned so that you are a step closer to finalizing the agreement deal.
